Came across this article at DailySEOblog.com by Mani Karthik, it is one good list put together in terms of what is true and what is not in the SEO world.
People have their own theories on what works and what doesn’t. While some things are never revealed officially by search giants, SEOs figureout by practice. This is one such list you should have a look before you start optimizing your website. I don’t have second opinions on any of the points listed by Mani.
Quoting a few points from Mani’s list of 25:
3. Changing the crawl rate settings in Webmasters tools console will change the Google crawl rate once and for all.
Apparently not. Google will also check your posting/publishing frequency and set an appropriate crawling frequency based on it, despite your manual setting.
10. A flash page means bad SEO.
Not at all. Using flash will definitely give you less options for SEO compared to a content rich page, but that doesn’t mean bad SEO. You can focus on other SEO factors and get equally good if not better results.
11. Adding a WordPress blog will automatically fix your site’s SEO.
WordPress is a great tool. But just adding one to your site/replacing with it will not give you any edge. You have to use it wisely to get the results.
14. Sitelinks appear only for websites who have high PR.
Sitelinks are auto generated for websites with high traffic. There is nothing you can do control them except to block some of the links from appearing using WebMaster tools
22. SEO is a one month process. Do it and get it done !
SEO is not a quick fix. It requires regular check ups and updates. Nothing can be achieved in short term.

As we all know, different search engines produce different search results based on several parameters some of which are never confirmed.
If you have been ccomparing search engine results in the major search engines(google, yahoo and MSN), then I am sure you will use this site very well.
The site is Twingine and its done well. The site combines the results of Google and Yahoo and displays in two frames. Actually, I had the same idea 2 years back but I had no time or resource at that time and now its too late to talk about it. I hope you will like the site.

This is in continuation with my previous post about eCPM. It is calculated by total earnings divided by the number of page impressions and then multiplied by 1000.
If your earnings is $50 and you have 11270 impressions.
$50/11270 = 0.00443655……
again 0.00443655……x1000 = 4.43
You can try the eCPM Calculator.

Authored by Arne Brachhold in the early days of the Google SiteMaps release by Google. This plugin is so famous that almost everyone who is aware of the importance of the Search Engine Registration, listings and rankings uses it these days.
I feel this is one of those plugins which makes wordpress the best among the blogging tools.
I have just started using it. But I was using Google SiteMaps since its lauch in the first week of june 2005 for many of the sites that I work on
You can download the latest version of this plugin here: download 2.7
You can view the complete log of the development here: final release
Take a look at the Screenshot.
Being a wordpress plugin and giving 100% support to the wordpress blog, the coolest thing about this plugin is that we can also add pages that are not generated by wordpress. That means if you have a page like http://www.mydomain.com/flash/index.html which is not generated by wordpress(http://www.mydomain.com/blog/), you can add this page too in the plugin’s admin panel and the plugin pings google via google-pings telling the changes in the site.
Cool isnt’it?
