I Went along with my friends to a village in Guntur for this weekend. The trip happened because it was one of friend’s(Gundu Vamsi) brother’s(Ramu) wedding. Though it happened because of the wedding, we planned it for spending some nice time together and it was a big hit.

Here are some tweaks for those who are using Yahoo Messenger (7.x-8.x)

1. Annoyed by the ads?
Start -> Run -> regedit
Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Pager\YUrl
Add the following string key: `Messenger Ad` [wihtout the quotes!] with the following value: “*”.
only add the *

2. If I have 2x accounts?
Start -> Run -> regedit
Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Pager\Test
Create a DWORD key with name of `Plural` with a value bigger than 0.

Note: you have to completely close your Y! Messenger [if you just log out and see a Y! in the traybar it don't gona work, you have to "kill" it completely than run again -> Y! reads the registry only at startup].

For a moment I thought “What the helll..?” but when I seriously read the news around, I came to know it was done by the government because of messages that posed religious hatred. Thats not OK right? The government could have banned the particular blogs. But as you know blogs on blogspot can be created by automated tools and posts can be written on several hundred blogs in seconds. So, banning one or few blogs cant solve the problem. If I was a blogspot user, I would have got to my roof top and whould have shouted at the government. I know how it feels. Lets not make it difficult for the government to do things to make sure India is a healthy country. Thats what I feel. We cant allow someone to write something stupid and just because of that more stupid things happen in India. You know what I mean?

Now, All you have to do is decide a domain name, buy it, probably you want to go with Dreamhost, right now which is the best hosting out there or Midphase, which I consider #2. After getting your hosting account activated, Upload WordPress, Install in one click!, and import your blogspot blog and get some sleep. Ya I make it sound too easy. But thats how it is, Easy!.

I’ve been blogging for a quite a while now and some blog consultation, customization and stuff and I am sure you can’t find a better platform than WordPress. If your problem is buying a domain name and hosting space. Go with Wordpress.com

Update:
Many users have this problem when they try to configure/test the screensaver:
It says: “Could not find the file flash.ocx”
Thanks Ahvon, a commentor below who suggested a solution for this.

You have to do this to solve it:
1. Browse to the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder.
2. Locate the flash9.ocx or flas10.ocx or flash10c.ocx file and right click it and select copy.
3. Right click in a blank spot of the same folder and select paste.
4. You will then find you have a file called Copy of Flash10.ocx in the folder.
5. Right click the new file and select rename and rename to flash.ocx

Once complete you should notice your screensaver functioning again and the error dissappear.
