Gayatri’s Wedding… and an unforgettable Journey
March 7th, 2006 by Vamsi
I didnt want to come back and i wished the bus that I got my ticket reserved never came to pick me up from my cousin’s place.
I went to my cousin’s wedding in east godavari, was there for two days and another two days at the groom’s place(vizag). It was loads of sentiments, relations and fun packed together and I had another beautiful holiday. One thing that none in our family will never forget is an accident that the Bride(Gayatri) and the Groom(Sridhar) missed on the way from the bride’s place to vizag. Their car slipped off the highway and ended up hitting a small tree may be in a 45 degree angle. Intrestingly there isn’t even a small scratch for their car and for them too. We all know its the driver’s slow driving which made the car escape a major accident or a roll off. We were in an qualis much far from them, by the time we came back for them, all we could only see is people around the situation and the roof of the car a bit. A million thoughts were running in our minds untill we reached the spot after we recieved a call from the Groom’s brother. We were just holding our hearts from the other side of the highway looking for the bride and groom and my cousin brother(Jagadish) who was driving his own car. They already got onto the bus in which the Groom’s relatives were there. We didnt know that and thought they might have been moved to any hospital or something(we could’nt see their car properly, it didnt have a scratch on it actually but was off road and situation there will make you loose your breath). My mom, the bride’s elder sister(madhavi) and the Groom’s mother who were along with me lost self control when they could’nt see my sis(the bride) and the Groom. They finally came down when they saw the couple at the bus which was parked far away from the accident spot.
We thanked God a million times for sparing the newly weds. Thanks again and a special thanks to my cousin Jagadish who thinks he has spoiled their journey(infact he made it an unforgetable journey). May be if it was me in the driving seat, things would have been different, may be my speed would have been no match for that little tree. Things are alright just because of Jagadish.
This is one journey I will never forget!
while I tell you all about this, back home, I miss my family and my sister(Vanitha) who is in Virginia and my sweetheart.
I didnt want to come back really.
