Finally Settled with Plogger gallery
September 25th, 2005 by Vamsi
I have dediced to go with Plogger image gallery script for 3 of my future sites. I see Plogger as a simple and a light gallery script and it looks easy to customize. I will be upding more about the sites once we have one of 3 completed. It might take some 1 to 8 weeks. It all depends on the time I am able to spend on these sites. If there are few festival holidays or may be a 3 day weekend, I hope I can workout one of 3 sites. Lets see.
By the way, for wordpress lovers, plogger developers are heading for a wordpress plugin which I am sure will push imaging with wordpress a little more further. check it out!
My best wishes to the Plogger Development team.
I shall be with these people in the long run.

That’s a different choice from the normal.
Why not use Coppermine or Gallery?

Yes Ajay, I’m really impressed by the way the script is coming out. Its dead light. And the coppermine is actually heavy. This one has very useful SE Friendly URLs for categories and even for the images. The look and feel is all cool and light weight CSS. Customization can be made as much as we want. I am sure I can show the difference. And more than anything else, I want to help the developers get some donations by powering some highly popular sites(the sites are a secret for now).
Only thing missing is the multi user feature.
I am sure they will comeup with that feature too.
Will talk you about this Ajay.

how are the templates like? Can you customize your own.
You have written they plan an interface for wordpress, which would be really cool though I would probably keep my exisiting gallery. I’m still evaluating options.
Gallery 2 has released. Probably will give these all a shot when I have the time

Have you tried this:
If this is as it says, I may actually give plogger a shot much earlier than others. Coppermine has this and is one main reason I’m still sticking around to it.

Yes Ajay, you can try it and see.
I am sure Plogger will make the big guns shake as days pass.
Its worth trying.
But may be wait till the next version, there are a lot of improvements with the beta 3. the current version is beta 2. But if its just for testing or for your personal gallery, you will be more than happy with the beta 2 itself.
